Being a young adult with cancer was terrifying. Not only was I fighting for my life, but I also felt completely lost. I was in my mid-twenties — a time when life was just beginning — yet instead, I found myself immersed in all things cancer. When treatment ended, I faced a path filled with uncertainty and loss.

I searched desperately to find where I belonged and how to navigate this new life I was determined to thrive in. Thankfully, I discovered young adult cancer support groups and finally met others like me — people who truly understood the whirlwind I had just endured.

Through those connections, I also found adventure. I developed a love for nature and continue to seek out opportunities to experience its beauty whenever I can. This is why organizations like True North Treks mean so much to me. These orgnaizations have gave me a new perspective and have been a vital part of my healing journey.

True North Treks is a non-profit organization that offers young adults with cancer the chance to connect with their peers, connect with nature, and reconnect with themselves.
