Help Pay It Forward for Young Adult Cancer Survivors!

 Hi! My name is Megha, and I am fundraising money for future True North Trek cancer patients/survivor participants.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 27. Young adults with cancer face many specific challenges. For me, this included balancing treatment and grad school, pre-menopausal medications, and a lack of age-appropriate supportive programming in cancer centers. True North Treks is a non-profit that was created to help provide a community for young adult cancer survivors, and focuses on three powerful connections that are often missing from conventional cancer care:

• Connecting with Nature (after something as un-natural as cancer and its treatment)
• Connecting with Peers (who have walked a similar path and "get it")
• Connecting with Oneself (through mindfulness aware practices like yoga)

I was recently lucky to join a trek to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where I got to connect with participants from all around the country right on the banks of the beautiful Lake Superior. This entirely was due to generous donations to True North Treks. I now hope to "Pay it Forward" by fundraising money to support future participants interested in joining a trek!
