This past June, I hit my 5th year of being cancer free! I will be completing my 5 years of letrozole medication in 3 days! A lot has happened over these 5 years: being diagnosed with Breast Cancer, BRCA-2 mutation, multiple tests, 5 surgeries, chemo, and physical therapy. I have had a few reoccurrence scares and will continue with screening for the rest of my life.
On a positive note, my cancer has allowed me to participate in a few cancer retreats where I have meet the nicest, strongest people who have also battled cancer. My new friendships have made me feel stronger and loved!
My treatments saved me but changed my body forever. Prior to cancer my bones and muscles were strong, and I didn't have trouble being physically active. My new normal is different, but I still love trying new outdoor activities. Participating in these cancer retreats resparks my love of being outdoors while trying a new activity! These experiences not only heal my soul and but bring me so much joy!
Soon, I will be taking an adventure with True North Treks (TNT) a nonprofit organization which supports cancer survivors.
I am looking to raise $2000 to help me raise money for True North Treks. Please help me raise money to send another survivor or thriver on a trek.
