This August, Trevor and I had the honor of attending a True North Treks retreat in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula. The experience was incredibly meaningful—being able to connect with others who truly understand the challenges of cancer, whether as survivors or caregivers, was deeply healing. Cancer can feel very isolating, and finding a like-minded community brought us so much comfort and hope.

The organization operates on a Pay It Forward model, which means our retreat was made possible entirely through the generosity of people who donated before us. We feel incredibly grateful to have been given that gift.
