My participation in the TNT Yellowstone backpacking trek was a milestone in my healing and recovery from my last 15 months of treatment for glioblastoma. It provided an opportunity for me to reconnect with nature, myself, and others with relatable young adult cancer experiences. My last year of treatment in isolation due to the pandemic has been extremely challenging. The trek allowed me to explore my feelings of fear and anxiety and the gray area following treatment. It shifted my perspective and I was able to remember my pre-cancer self. I remembered I can find joy and come what may, I will be OK, hopefully even get to thrive!

One of the cool parts of the TNT trek program is the Pay It Forward Pledge which allows participants in the treks to raise funds for future treks for other young survivors. It made such an impact on me, I want to share this excellent experience with others in need of such a reconnection program. No pressure to donate. My goal is $500 to meet my pledge, however, the program and organization are a worthy cause if you are interested in sharing more. All donations great or small, or very much appreciated and will help others who don't have the resources to participate in this amazing experience.
