It truly is a precious privilege to be alive, but it's not always easy — especially when you're dealing with cancer or its effects, which can often feel brutal, lonely, and uncertain. 

Fortunately, groups like True North Treks provide healing and connection in nature for survivors (like me) and their caregivers (because cancer isn't just rough for the patient - ask my mom!).

This August 2021 I'm so lucky to be joining TNT for a weeklong backpacking trip in Yellowstone National Park. A dream trip! And something I would never have dreamed possible for myself BC. I know it won't be easy, but I'm pretty darn sure it will be worth it. 

Some of my most healing time has been out in nature — breathing, thinking, enjoying, and loving every texture and creature (moss: up close, snakes: from afar). On top of that, connecting with others who've been through the same kind of journey is more important than you can imagine. 

Please help me pay it forward and make it possible for another survivor to join TNT on a journey of connection — with nature, with fellow travelers, and with self. Can you please take a moment now to make a donation to True North Treks?

Just like we all hike at our own pace, I know we're all in our own place financially, so please give an amount that's meaningful to you, whatever that may be.
